Perhaps, all of us who have bank accounts know KYC.
At Prakriti, we strived to promote KYF - Know your Farmer.
As a platform connecting the consumer and the producer, we have always pushed for participative transactions where the consumers excercise their 'Right to Know' effectively.
As a way to creating a wider dialogue, we conducted 'Know your Farmer' programs at the store venue when the farmer comes down to share his/her experieces and it's an opportunity for the consumer to know about the person and process behind the Food they eat. After all, participation is a better process than anticipation.
Such meetings end with a quick sale of produce from the farmer directly followed by a light snack.
No amount of paper certifications can match such an interaction in building trust.
The word Organic is often associated with toxic-free, nutrition-rich aspects only. But beyond that, the word emcompasses deeper aspects like Trust, Accountability, Inclusiveness and the likes as well
